All About the Food
The passion of founder Mark Lingam, a proud Malaysian bound forth from every dish. All the recipes employed are his own and great attention is paid to each ingredient and to the precise preparation of every dish. Our Japanese Chef fuses Mark's ideas to the exquisite Japanese dishes.

As Mark's Place is the only fusion restaurant bar in Kelana Jaya there's a chance patrons may not have heard of all the dishes on offer but there's nothing mysterious about the dishes on offer. Everything is freshly made from the quesadillas to the pasta to the selection of sushis and patrons can't fail to notice the difference. Only the largest and best selections of whiskeys can be found at Mark's Place.
About Mark Lingam
Mark Lingam and his father are the founders and proprietors of the Mark's Place pub and bistro in Kelana Jaya. Over looking the Water Front this attractive, new bar offers quality food in a relaxed, modern environment. Mark has been an integral part of the design, build, the fitting out, the staffing and even the menu of his 18 month old hostelry.

Cutting his teeth in Illinois at Wendy's, Mark went on the hone his naturally hospitable nature with stints at a number of establishments including Luculo's Hot Dogs, the Red Ox Steak House and Indian Lakes Resort, all also in Illinois.

At the famed Durty Nellie's in Illinois Mark was serving, doing bar and cooking in and he was often working 60+ hours per week.

At Durty Nellie's he was part of a team of four chefs who were producing up to 1,000 meals per shift, 5pm-10pm, it was a busy, rock n roll type place.

Heading west to San Francisco Mark was hitting managerial level and still in his 20s testament to his hard work and aptitude for feeding people well and making them feel right at home. This he continues today at his cool bar in Petaling Jaya.

He was manager of the beautiful Latitude Island Grill but by this stage he was realising that he was unlikely to progress much further in his industry. Mark returned to his homeland Malaysia in 2008, he'd left in 5th Grade.

"I want Mark's Place to be one of those places that's never out of style, it truly is a classic with proper, good old fashioned home cooking, a good range of drinks and some superb whiskies," says the host with the most. "It's solid and comfortable and it looks good."

"I just love seeing people enjoying themselves in my place. It's great to see people casting off their cares, kicking back, relaxing, being themselves and just having a good time and that's what Mark's Place is all about," says Mark.
